To use the white balance cap just set the camera’s white balance settings to custom and then attach the white balance cap.

Then point the camera at the subject and the incoming light is then diffused to create an average white balance for a particular scene. Remove the cap and start shooting.

The white balance cap easily screws onto the front of the camera lens and can even be screwed to a lens with a protective filter in place.
