The 67mm to 67mm Coupling Ring is an adapter used mostly in macro photography with a male filter thread on each side, allowing for the connection of two 67mm lenses by their filter mounts.
 
This Coupling Ring has a male filter thread on each side that allows you to connect two lenses via their filter mounts. The lens that is furthest from the camera is mounted in reverse and acts as a powerful and well-corrected close-up lens.
 
For example, a 50 mm lens is +20 dioptres, which is much stronger than normal close-up lenses.
 
The reversed lens should be used at maximum aperture. The two lenses should be as close together as possible, so it is best to remove any filters before coupling.
 
To couple two lenses with different thread sizes a stepping ring must be used, for example two lenses that measure 49mm and 72mm must be used with a 72mm to 72mm coupling ring and a 49mm to 72mm stepping ring.
 
Long and/or heavy lenses should not be reversed, because they would place too much strain on the filter mount.
