A 72mm Close Up lens works by reducing the minimum focusing distance of a camera and allowing you to focus more closely to the subject, giving the image greater magnification.

The Close Up Lens simply screws into the front of the camera lens, like a filter, which then lets the camera adjust the exposure and auto-focus of the image. At higher magnifications it may be easier to switch the lens to manual focus.

For maximum magnification, use the manual focus of the camera and set the lens to its minimum focusing distance. Then simply move the camera closer to the subject until it is in focus.
